NEWFOUNDLAND

August 13-21, 2021

From $7,495 incl. all taxes | Departs From Toronto*

Unique motorcycle experiences are what we do, but none quite as unique as the Island of Newfoundland.

This trip is by far the most relaxed of all our offerings. We’ll spend our time cruising in a place that will teach us all a thing or two about a simpler way.  Like the local people and the timeless geography, we’ll cover a lot of ground but won’t be in a big hurry. From mountain ranges to long coastal cruises to caribou barrens and picturesque fishing villages, you‘ll realize all the great things you’ve heard about a motorcycle trip to Newfoundland are true, and wonder what took you so long to get here.

WELCOME TO THE ROCK

It won’t take long for us “mainlanders” to realize that they didn’t nickname it “The Rock” for nothing.  After arriving in Deer Lake, we’ll spend 7 days amongst some of the most unique and ever-changing natural geography you’ve ever seen, and we won’t be in any rush to pass through it.  You’ll ride right next to the ocean, pass steep-cliff fjords, near stunted forested mountains, across stark moon-like barrens, and even across the earth’s mantle; often on the same ride.

And when it’s time to stop for the day, there is no more hospitable place we’ve ever been than Newfoundland, and no element more genuine than that of the people themselves. You’ll get the chance to immerse yourself in the culture that is making this place a must-return for those who’ve made the trek. No motorcycle trip to Newfoundland is complete without some time on the water, live local music, and the screeching-in ceremony making honorary islanders out of many a mainlander.

“I didn’t really know what to expect but I was blown away by the whole experience. The roads and landscape are unlike anything I’ve ever ridden. There is just so much variety it’s hard to imagine, yet it’s such a pleasant pace that the kms just melt away. Plus the hotels and villages just deliver on everything great that you’d imagine when you think of Newfoundland. I’ll be back 1000%”

Check-In and Orientation

day 1: WELCOME TO THE ROCK

Departure: 8:00am

Distance: ~435 kms

Arrival: 4:00pm

What better way to begin a motorcycle trip to Newfoundland than to venture out into the heart of the province. It’s a long day but by the time we descend into town for the night, you’ll realize the scope, uniqueness, and unmatched variety of touring that awaits you over the next 6 days.

day 2: THE CONNAIGRA LOOP

Departure: 9:30am

Distance: ~250 kms

Arrival: 3:00pm

Today is a leisurely day amongst steep cliffs, picturesque bays and mountains, and remote outport settlements that you have to see to believe. The roads are like rollercoasters in places as we’ll rise from sea level to over 1,000 ft very quickly, and more than 10 times during our ride. An evening on the water with some locals and cocktails isn’t a bad way to wrap-up our time here either!

day 3: THE ROAD TO THE ISLES

Departure: 8:00am

Distance: ~330 kms

Arrival: 4:30pm

Today we get back to some serious cruising. We’ll say goodbye to Harbour Breton on our way to enchanted Twillingate. We’ll soak in the scenery as we make our way north back to the Trans-Canada highway and the Road to the Isles, traversing a web of interconnected islands leading to what will no doubt be a true jewel of your Newfoundland experience.

day 4: Let’s Go to Fogo

Departure: 8:00am

Distance: ~345 kms

Arrival: Approx. 3:30pm

Just when you think you can’t get MORE remote, we’ll head to the ferry for a quick commute to Fogo Island. We’ll follow the rhythm of the locals on a light and easy day trip to one of the most remote places this country has to offer. It also boasts one of the most exclusive hotels anywhere on earth, with a history that exemplifies the true spirt of the Newfoundland people.

day 5: Gros Morne Magic

Departure: 8:00am (Group)

Distance: ~428 kms

Arrival: 4:30pm (Group)

Our second (and last) big riding day of the trip is today, but the way it starts and ends will leave you wondering where all the kms went. We’ll head back to the highway via the Road to the Isles and head west to what will be a highlight of your riding career. After putting some functional kilometres behind us, we’ll finish the day in possibly our favourite spot on the island, in the heart of Gros Morne National Park, for two days of seriously spectacular riding.

day 6: Ride on The Earth’s Crust

Departure: 10:00am

Distance: ~182 kms

Arrival: 3:00pm

After a great night’s sleep overlooking Bonne Bay, another super-relaxing yet magnificent ride awaits. We’ll head back through the park (which we swear you’ll NEVER tire of) on our way to a couple charming little waterfront towns of Bonne Bay and Trout River. We’ll be off the bikes more than usual just soaking in the local charm and hospitality of these seaside communities. Well fed and coffeed-out, we’ll enjoy another glorious ride through The Tablelands and Gros Morne back to your incredible room in Norris Point.

day 7: Captain Cook’s Trail

Departure: 9:30am

Distance: ~270 kms

Arrival: 3:00pm

This is always the saddest day to describe as unfortunately it is our last. One last look at Gros Morne as we head back towards Deer Lake and the conclusion of our time together, but not before we get another run at some of the most rugged and exhilarating roads the island has to offer. The Bay of Islands is the place where James Cook honed his cartographic skills and it’s another all-in-one-place to get your Newfoundland fix before heading back to the mainland.
